HAVERFORD, Pa. - The No. 28 Haverford College men's squash team ran its record to 9-1 on the season with a convincing victory over No. 54 Vassar (3-8) on Saturday afternoon at the GIAC Squash Courts. The Fords are off to their best 10-match start in program history, and have already reached last season's win total. Haverford will look to take aim at the program-record 15 win season from 2016-17, with seven matches remaining. In getting to 10 wins, the Fords made quick work of a Vassar side they had previously defeated in December, completing the home-and-home sweep of the visiting Brewers in dominating fashion.

The first match to finish saw Aaron Witkin sweep past Eric Chen at the ninth flight (11-2, 11-2, 11-4). Co-captain Ryan Dukarm then took the victory over Milind Joshi at the sixth position (11-4, 11-8, 11-2) while Alden Weinberg surrendered just six points in his victory over Reese Collins at the eighth flight (11-0, 11-2, 11-4).

Yash Singh collected his 43rd career victory over Isaac Stuart at the fifth position (11-6, 11-4, 11-3), moving to within just three wins of program career wins leader Peter Dudley '18. The match was clinched for the Fords at the second flight, as Tate Miller dispatched Caden Gruber (11-2, 11-2, 11-2). The sixth match to finish saw co-captain Alex Liu complete a sweep of Travers Parsons-Grayson at the seventh flight (11-3, 11-1, 11-1).

The last round of matches to complete included Keil Reedich grabbing a win over Henry Mitchell at the fourth position (11-2, 11-6, 11-5), Fitz Dougherty making quick work of Alex Wisneski at the third flight (11-1, 11-1, 11-6), and Davis Chase bringing things home with a win over Viraj Nadkarni at the top flight (11-3, 11-1, 11-3).

Haverford is now 20-12 all-time against the Brewers. Dougherty (9-0) and Miller (10-0) have each posted unblemished records thus far in 2018-19. Dougherty's career winning percentage of .885 (23-3) is the best in Haverford career history among players with at least 15 wins.

Haverford will look for its 11th and 12th victories of the season on Saturday, February 2 as home action continues at the GIAC Squash Courts next weekend. The Fords will do battle with No. 41 Denison and No. 37 Bucknell. The matches begin at 10:30 a.m.
