The Haverford College athletic department handed out its end of the year awards and recognized all the amazing contributions from the student-athletes in the Class of 2020.
The Fords will take on Wesleyan this afternoon at 3 p.m., but tomorrow's scheduled matches against Connecticut College and Hamilton have been postponed due to inclement weather.
Haverford received its individual match wins from junior co-captain Fitz Dougherty at the second flight, and first year Quinton Crawford (pictured) at the fourth position.
Haverford dropped a 7-2 decision in a neutral site match against No. 27 Connecticut College before firing back for a 9-0 sweep against the host No. 47 Brewers.
The current men's side took an 15-1 victory over the alumni while the current women's side defeated the alumnae team 10-1. Matches were played best two out of three.
Organized by Eighth Dimension, Haverford's Office of Community Service, and promoted by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), this festival is another example of the Haverford athletic department supporting the NCAA Division III Special Olympics initiative.
Haverford was one of just 53 Division III institutions that were recognized by DIII and its national SAAC representatives for completing the 50 for 50th Challenge.
The Haverford College Athletic Department will induct its ninth class into the Thomas Glasser ’82 Hall of Achievement in the spring of 2020. The deadline for submission of nominees for the 2020 Hall of Achievement is August 1, 2019.
