POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The 30th-ranked Haverford College men's squash team (3-2) took a split at Vassar on Saturday afternoon, dropping a neutral site match against No. 27 Connecticut College before firing back for a 9-0 sweep against the host No. 47 Brewers to conclude the day.

The Camels took a lead out of the gates behind a win at the fifth flight from Billy Fleurima over Keil Reedich in straight games, but Khalil Walker and Davis Chase then took their opponents to five games. Walker grabbed the first two games from Luigi Pasquariello at the eighth flight, but his opponent rallied to take a five-game thriller. Chase fell into an 0-2 hole before storming back to even things at 2-2 against Andre Giglio at the top flight, with Giglio prevailing 11-9 in the fifth and final game.
Fitz Dougherty picked up an important win for the Fords at the second flight, shaking off a first game defeat to MD Jawad and rallying for three straight (3-11, 12-10, 11-6, 11-9). Michael Rodriguez later put Connecticut on the brink with a sweep of John Collins at the sixth position, and Christopher Mach swept Aaron Witkin at the ninth flight.
Quinton Crawford delivered a win for the Fords at the fourth flight, prevailing in an epic five-game classic after dropping the first set. The first year played Tyler Maguire to three consecutive games that required extra points. Crawford took an 11-7 victory in the closeout fifth set to notch a signature tally for the Fords (5-11, 13-11, 11-13, 13-11, 11-7). The other two matches of the round saw James Andrew outlast Tate Miller in four, and Samuel Piller record a sweep over Nathan Wang.
Haverford will have a chance to avenge the loss to Connecticut College on January 18 at Fordham. The series has been tightly contested as of late, as the Fords beat Connecticut College in the previous meeting between the two sides in 2018, breaking a streak of seven consecutive Camels victories with that triumph.

The Fords made quick work of Vassar in the second match of the day, overpowering the hosts with sweeps at all nine flights in a commanding performance.
Chase was a winner over Sameer Mustafa at the top flight (11-8, 11-7, 11-5), while Dougherty took the win at the second flight over Milind Joshi (11-9, 11-4, 11-3). Miller got the best of Henry Mitchell (11-2, 11-9, 11-4) at the third flight, and Crawford allowed just eight total points in his sweep of Matthew Hein (11-5, 11-1, 11-2) at the fourth.
Reedich outlasted Alex Wisneski (11-2, 12-10, 11-5), while Collins had a standout performance in his matchup at the sixth spot against Reese Collins (11-3, 11-4, 11-5). Wang looked just as impressive allowing just seven points at the seventh flight to Max Swan (11-1, 11-4, 11-2), and Walker swept past Liam Condon (11-7, 11-5, 11-4). Witkin also did not allow more than five points in any of the three games in his sweep of Jonah Miles at the ninth flight. (11-3, 11-2, 11-5).
The Fords are now 21-12 in the all-time series against Vassar. That run of success includes 13 straight victories dating back to 2011.
Haverford now returns to action on Saturday, December 7, squaring off with No. 15 St. Lawrence at 6 p.m at the GIAC Squash Courts. The two sides have not met since 2004.
