Why did you choose Haverford?
I chose Haverford because it provided me with an excellent education where I was not limited to only taking classes in my intended major. It also gave me the opportunity to become part of a team of like-minded, hardworking, and supportive individuals and play a sport I love.

What is your favorite team experience?
My favorite experience was and will continue to be coming back early from winter break for preseason. This is a serious but relaxed time when we do not yet have second semester classes and can focus on improving our athletic ability and getting closer as a team.

Why did you choose to play a sport in college?
After picking up squash in high school and playing every winter, I knew that I wanted the same kind of experience for myself in a college setting. This helped me with time management, getting enough exercise, and perseverance in difficult situations (like five game matches).

What does being a student-athlete mean to you?
Having athletics as well as academics in my schedule provides me with a better plan for each day and forces me to think about work in advance. It also gives me a time in the day where I can take a break from anything else that might be going on and just play squash and focus on improving my game.

What advice would you give a high school student considering Haverford?
If you are considering Haverford, take the time to get to know the school, the people, and the coaches however you can: through social media, email, phone calls with coaches and players or even zoom calls in the time of Covid. Do anything you can to get better acquainted and put yourself in a position to make the best decision possible.
