MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - The 29th-ranked Haverford College men's squash team (5-5) was defeated by No. 31 Brown (5-6) on Sunday morning at the Rosenbaum Squash Center on the Wesleyan campus, as the Ivy League foes prevailed by a 9-0 final in the neutral-site matchup.

Ben Schiltz was a top performer for the Fords at the fourth spot on the ladder, as he was locked in a back-and-forth battle against Brown's Raphael Benamran, despite playing up two spots from his sixth-rung spot that he occupied in the previous matchups this weekend.

Schiltz took the first game with ease over his Brown opponent with a relatively straightforward 11-4 win, but Benamran responded to rattle off a pair of 11-6 victories, putting the Haverford player on the brink. Facing elimination, Schiltz then responded with a 15-13 win in a captivating thriller in the fourth game. Although Schiltz had won the game to force a fifth, Benamran was able to prevail in the decisive fifth game by an 11-7 final.

First-year Matt Sullivan also had a spirited performance before falling in five games at the sixth flight, fending off a sweep with an 11-9 win in the fourth game against Brown's Will McLaren.

The meeting between the Fords and the Bears of Brown was the first matchup between the two sides in program history.

Haverford will now return home to the GIAC Squash Courts for the first time since November on Thursday, January 19, taking on No. 25 Navy at 6 p.m. Live video from all five courts as well as live scoring will be available via HaverfordAthletics.com as Haverford welcomes Navy to campus for the first time since the 2016-17 season.
