Men's tennis falls in regular-season finale

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Haverford College men's tennis team closed out the regular season with an 8-1 Centennial Conference loss to host Swarthmore College on Saturday afternoon.

Luis Acaba and Jacob Youse earned the Fords' lone point of the day with a 9-8 victory over Max Kaye and Harrison Lands at No. 1 doubles.

The Garnet (11-7, 8-1 CC) won each of the singles matches in straight sets on the way to earning a point for Swarthmore in this year's race for the Hood Trophy. Haverford already clinched its 23rd consecutive victory in the annual friendly competition between the two institutions.

The Fords (11-5, 7-2) will not have to wait long for a rematch as Haverford, the third seed in this year's Centennial tournament, will travel back to Swarthmore next Saturday. The time of the semifinal match with the second-seeded Garnet will be announced on Monday.
