LANCASTER, Pa. - Sophomore Luis Acaba and senior Matt Romei each earned recognition from the Centennial Conference on Friday afternoon for singles and doubles play when the conference released the All-Centennial men's tennis team.

Acaba played No. 1 singles throughout the season for Haverford and was one of just six players in the entire league to garner All-Centennial first-team singles status. The sophomore went 9-6 in singles action and guided the Fords to the conference semifinal.

Romei, who was also named the scholar-athlete of the year, was picked to the singles second team as he went 6-2 in league play and helped Haverford claim the third-best record in the Centennial this season. The senior went 7-2 in his final nine individual matches and led the team to five-straight wins.

Both Acaba and Romei were selected to the All-Centennial second team in doubles as they partnered with Jacob Youse and Sloan Millman, respectively. Youse joined Acaba as one of three doubles pairs to be named to the second team as the tandem won four of its six No. 1 doubles matches. Millman and Romei were also one of the top doubles pairings in the conference and received second-team recognition.

Sophomore Harrison Elbert was selected to the All-Sportsmanship team after going undefeated in singles (4-0) and registering a 5-5 record in doubles play.

Johns Hopkins University freshman Michael Buxbaum was named both the player and the rookie of the year. Robert Detrich of McDaniel College took home the coach of the year honor.
