Men's Tennis Honored with ITA All-Academic Award

SKILLMAN, N.J. – The Haverford College men's tennis team was one of only 48 Division III teams that the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rewarded with an All-Academic award on Thursday. In total, eight Fords also achieved ITA's Scholar-Athlete status.

The honor marks the 13th straight year that men's tennis team has received an ITA All-Academic award. Teams must have cumulative grade point average of 3.20 to receive the honor.

Joshua Lederman and Jacob Youse were among the eight Fords that reached ITA's Scholar-Athlete status. Joining them were John Cummings, Robert Homan, Zack Mason, Sloan Millman, Matt Romei and Devin Van Dyke who also made the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll. To be a scholar-athlete, players must be a varsity letter winner and have at least a 3.50 grade point average.

The men's tennis team made the Centennial Conference tournament semifinals for the fourth consecutive year and finished the season 11-6 overall. Matt Romei was named to the All-Centennial Conference second team in singles and achieved all-conference second team in doubles with his partner Sloan Millman. Jacob Youse was also named to the conference's second team in doubles with his partner Luis Acaba.
