HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's tennis team won its 10th straight match on Saturday afternoon against visiting Dickinson College. The Fords (10-1, 4-0 CC) won all but one doubles and one singles match in the 7-2 victory. Haverford's 10 straight wins are now tied for the seventh longest winning streak in program history. The last time the Fords won this many matches in a row was a string of 11 straight victories during the 2007 season.

Haverford nearly made it a clean sweep of doubles action. Harrison Elbert and Luis Acaba got the Fords off to a good start with an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles. Haverford's top doubles pairing has now won seven straight matches when the two are paired together.

Dais Nakayama and Josh Moskovitz gave the Fords their second doubles point with a win in the middle position. This pairing is now 5-2 during the spring dual season and has won three straight matches together. The Fords just missed a 3-0 advantage early when Nick Sweeney and Ishaan Prinz were edged out by an 8-6 score.

Haverford put itself on the brink of victory with a pair of straight set victories in the first wave of singles matches to hit the courts. The most impressive of those wins came from Moskovitz as the Fords' freshman improved to 9-0 during the spring season with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles. Elbert also doubled up his wins on the day with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 3 singles. He has now won six straight matches and is 7-1 during the spring season.

The two sides played a pair of decisive three-set matches among the top four. At No. 4 singles, Prinz kept his singles' winning streak alive with a convincing 6-1 third set. He got the jump early in his match with a 6-2 first set win. Dickinson claimed its lone singles point at No. 1 with a three-set win. Nakayama forced the decisive set with a 7-5 win in the second.

Zack Mason and Eli Phelps closed out the match with two solid performances at Nos. 5 and 6 singles. Mason improved his record to 8-2 on the year as he won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5. Phelps saw his first action of the spring season in the singles lineup on Saturday. However, he showed no signs of rust in a convincing 6-0, 6-1 victory.

Men's tennis will now make a pair of road trips during the upcoming week. The Fords' first test will come Tuesday as they travel to Muhlenberg for a 4 p.m. start. Next Saturday, the team makes the trip to Baltimore for a showdown with No. 21 Johns Hopkins.
