SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Haverford College men's tennis team dropped a 5-0 decision to second-seeded and No. 26 Johns Hopkins in the first Centennial Conference semifinal match on Saturday morning.

The Fords' trip to the Centennial semifinals marks the sixth straight season in which the Fords have made it at least this far in the conference playoffs. Haverford finishes the season with 13 wins – tied for the program's most since the 2007 season.

Starting off with doubles action, it was the Blue Jays who struck first with each of the first three points. The tightest match of doubles came at the No. 3 position where Eli Phelps and Ishaan Prinz secured four games off of their counterparts. The all-conference senior pairing of Luis Acaba and Harrison Elbert took three games at the No. 1 doubles position, while Dais Nakayama and Josh Moskovitz won two games in their match at No. 2 doubles.

Playing the postseason match to decision, Johns Hopkins secured the win with victories at Nos. 2 and 3 singles. In the third singles slot, Nakayama won four games over his match. Moskovitz garnered two games in the No. 2 position. The match at No. 1 singles also started but was finished uncompleted with Acaba winning four games. Nos. 4-6 singles had not begun by the time the match reached decision.

With today's win, Johns Hopkins advances to tomorrow's championship match where it will play host Swarthmore.
