HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's tennis team swept Dickinson on Senior Day, officially clinching the Fords' spot in the Centennial Conference Tournament. The Fords (10-5, 6-1 CC) saw their senior class directly impact five of the team's nine victories, including three of the singles matches where Haverford did not drop a set.

Starting off with a 3-0 sweep of doubles, Haverford's No. 1 pairing of Josh Moskovitz and David Kong allowed just three games to the opposition. That win kept their unbeaten Centennial Conference season going through five matches together and makes the duo 8-3 at No. 1 doubles this spring.

Senior Dais Nakayama and Kevin Yan assumed their regular position at No. 2 doubles and were 8-4 winners. The Nakayama/Yan team also has eight wins together this spring and holds a 4-1 record in Centennial Conference matches. Seniors Eli Phelps and Benjamin Soloway combined for an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles.

Moving into singles, seniors Ishaan Prinz, Eli Phelps, and Caleb Mayer were all straight-set winners. Mayer did not drop a game to his opponent at the No. 6 position during his spring singles debut. He is also 2-0 in doubles this year. Phelps was a 6-2, 6-2 winner at No. 4 singles. Phelps' victory was his second this spring and marked the 20th singles victory of his career. Prinz moved up to No. 2 singles in the lineup and came away with a 6-3, 6-1 win. The Fords' co-captain now has nine wins this season in singles and is 4-1 against conference competition.

Regionally-ranked Josh Moskovitz rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the top singles match. The junior co-captain also has nine total wins in singles, including a perfect 5-0 record against Centennial foes. David Kong won a first set tiebreak 7-6 (5), before cruising to a 6-3 second set during his victory at No. 3 singles. Kong is 5-1 in conference matches and leads the team with 15 wins in singles this year. Raja Arul moved to 2-0 in conference singles matches with a 6-2, 6-4 victory in the No. 5 position.

Men's tennis will wrap up the regular season this coming week with a pair of road matches. Up first will be a rivalry match on Tuesday, April 24 against Swarthmore. That match-up gets underway at 4 p.m. Haverford closes the regular season with a 1 p.m. match at Gettysburg next Saturday.
