Signature wins: Highlighting another strong men's tennis season were key victories against some of the strongest teams in the region for the Haverford College men's tennis team. Along with convincing victories over Centennial Conference foes Franklin & Marshall, Ursinus, and Dickinson, the Fords toppled Salisbury and The College of New Jersey throughout the spring.
Haverford's win over TCNJ snapped a three-match losing streak in the all-time series and was the Fords' first against the Lions since the 2011 campaign. The victory against Salisbury also avenged a loss when those teams last met during the 2015 season. The Fords clinched third place in the Centennial Conference regular season standings behind a dominant 7-2 win on the road against Franklin & Marshall and dropped just three matches in total during all of its other Centennial Conference victories.
Season Notes: Haverford went 11-7 overall under head coach Sean Sloane who announced his retirement after 21 seasons leading the men's tennis program … Sloane capped his coaching career with 214 victories during that time and was named the Centennial Conference Coach of the Year at the conclusion of this year … The Fords went 7-2 against Centennial Conference opponents … Each of Haverford's defeats came at the hands of nationally-ranked teams … Haverford has now made the Centennial Conference Tournament during 12 of the 13 years that the conference team tournament has been held, making it to at least the semifinal round during each of those appearances … The Fords were ranked No. 13 as a team in the final ITA Atlantic South Regional rankings … Josh Moskovitz finished the year as the 12th ranked singles player in the region, while David Kong and Moskovitz combined to form the 12th ranked doubles team in the region … Haverford's four All-Centennial Conference performers in singles tied the school record for most in a single season, a mark that was set just one year ago … The Fords had two doubles teams named All-Centennial Conference for the second straight season, but just the sixth time in program history … Three different players combined for the five Centennial Conference Player of the Week honors during the regular season … Haverford was the only school in the entire Philadelphia area with multiple student-athletes named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team as Josh Moskovitz and David Kong earned that recognition … The 14 student-athletes named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll marked the second-highest total in program history, second only to 16 honorees in 2016 … Haverford has earned the ITA's All-Academic Team Award every year since 2001, a streak of 18 straight seasons overall … The Fords have won the ITA's All-Academic Team Award a total of 19 times in program history.

Looking ahead: The Fords return four of their six regulars from the singles lineup to the 2018-19 season. Regionally-ranked rising senior Josh Moskovitz returns as one of the top players in the entire conference as he was avenging his only conference defeat of the entire season before the playoff match against Swarthmore reached decision. Rising All-Centennial Conference juniors Kevin Yan and David Kong highlight that talented class while Pranav Krishnan solidified the No. 6 spot in the lineup during his rookie season. Raja Arul, Rob Kresch, and Arnav Patodia also have a lot of college experience that will be relied on during the 2018-19 season as the Fords graduate four-year starters, co-captains, and All-Centennial Conference performers Dais Nakayama and Ishaan Prinz. Senior Eli Phelps was also an all-conference performer during his career with the Fords.
