HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's tennis team swept away Washington College on Tuesday afternoon. The Fords (5-5, 2-0 CC) remained unbeaten in Centennial Conference action with that resounding win as the hosts needed just one tiebreak to record their first 9-0 victory of the season.

Haverford got off to a great start in doubles as the Fords conceded just four games in total across all three matches. At No. 1 doubles, Josh Moskovitz and Kevin Yan recorded their second straight conference win, and seventh victory together this year, with an 8-1 statement. Haverford's third team of Nick Sweeney and Arnav Patodia won by that same score, its sixth win overall. In the middle matchup, George Jiang and Pranav Krishnan were 8-2 winners and now have nine victories together.

Switching over to singles, Josh Moskovitz kept the momentum rolling with a 6-1, 6-1 win in the top match. Moskovitz is now 11-6 in singles this year. Reigning Centennial Conference Player of the Week Kevin Yan was a 6-2, 6-1 winner. He is now 2-0 in conference matches and has won four straight singles matches overall.

After Yan sealed the match, Krishnan kept the team points coming as he was a 6-1, 6-3 victor at No. 4 singles. Pranav Krishnan is also now 2-0 in CC matches with seven victories in total. The toughest battle in singles came at No. 3 where George Jiang emerged after a 10-point tiebreak that kept WAC off the scoreboard. Jiang went up early with a dominant 6-0 first set before his opponent came back in the second. Jiang won the tiebreak by a 10-8 score to post the 10th win of his rookie campaign.

The last two players on court for Haverford, Nick Sweeney (No. 5) and Arnav Patodia (No. 6), were both 6-0, 6-2 winners. Both of those players are now 2-0 in Centennial Conference play and have won three straight overall.

After knocking Washington College from the ranks of the unbeaten teams in the conference, the Fords will look to do the same thing once again this weekend as they make the trip to Franklin & Marshall on Saturday. That match is scheduled to get underway at 12 p.m. noon.
