Men's Tennis Blanks Muhlenberg, 9-0

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Haverford College men's tennis team, ranked No. 12 in the Atlantic South Region, picked up its second 9-0 sweep of the Centennial Conference season against Muhlenberg on Wednesday night. The Fords (7-5, 4-0 CC) did not drop a set in their conference matchup to stay remain undefeated in Centennial Conference play.

First years Patrick Kley and Jackson Trevor played their first match together in doubles and came away with the most resounding result of the early matches, an 8-0 victory. Josh Moskovitz and Kevin Yan, the Fords' top duo, won by an 8-6 score and have now come away with victories in four straight matches to remain unbeaten against Centennial competition. Arnav Patodia and Nick Sweeney moved up to No. 2 doubles and won an 8-7 (7-5) tiebreak. The Patodia/Sweeeny team won its seventh match together with the result against Muhlenberg.

Changing over to singles, Haverford won five of its twelve sets by 6-0 scores across the lineup. Josh Moskovitz allowed just one game to his opponent at No. 1 singles. The senior co-captain is now 13-6 on the year and has won three straight matches. Fellow co-captain Kevin Yan was a 6-0, 6-2 winner at No. 2 singles. Yan is a perfect 4-0 in conference singles matches, 12-5 on the year, and has won six straight overall.

George Jiang matched Moskovitz's score as he conceded just one game in the opening set of No. 3 singles, while Pranav Krishnan won back-to-back 6-1 sets. Jiang is now 12-6 on the year, and 8-4 this spring, after winning his third straight singles match. Krishnan joined Yan as a 4-0 player in conference singles matches with his ninth win of the season.

Co-captain Nick Sweeney moved up to No. 5 singles in place of Arnav Patodia and won a 6-2, 6-0 match. Sweeney's victory was the ninth of his season as his conference record now sits at 3-1. Jun Mo moved into the starting lineup for the first time this spring and secured a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.

Men's tennis will return home this Saturday for a doubleheader on the Bramall Tennis Courts. The Fords will first host Southern Virginia in a 10 a.m. match before battling McDaniel at 1 p.m. in Centennial Conference action.
