HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's tennis team remained undefeated in the month of April and ran its winning streak to six straight matches on Saturday as the Fords took down regionally-ranked Southern Virginia by a 6-3 score before a 9-0 sweep of McDaniel in Centennial Conference action. Haverford entered the day ranked No. 11 in the Atlantic South Region while Southern Virginia checked in at No. 17 in this week's rankings.

Haverford showed early on that doubles were going to be a strength as the Fords (9-5, 5-0 CC) swept through both matches. Highlighting the doubles action was Josh Moskovitz and Kevin Yan defeating the regionally-ranked pairing Daniel Blomquist and Kukutla Motiojoa by a resounding 8-2 score. That momentum seemed to translate throughout the lineup as the Fords conceded just seven doubles games in total against Southern Virginia and just 10 across all six doubles matches that were contested on Saturday. The Fords used their regular lineup in the early match as Pranav Krishnan and George Jiang were 8-2 winners and the Arnav Patodia/Nick Sweeney pairing won by an 8-3 tally.

The Fords also won three singles matches against Southern Virginia, with each of their only defeats on the day coming in hard-fought three set matches. Josh Moskovitz (6-0, 6-4 at No. 1), George Jiang (6-3, 6-4 at No. 3, and Arnav Patodia (6-1, 6-1 at No. 6) clinched the match early for the Fords. Jiang served as the team's official clinching point as he recorded the 13th win of his season. Moskovitz now leads the Fords with a 14-6 record in singles while Patodia has won a team-best five straight singles matches after his result.

Mixing up the lineup for the conference match against the Green Terror, Haverford allowed just three games in doubles and a total of nine throughout the six straight set victories in singles. Josh Moskovitz and Pranav Krishnan were 8-1 winners in doubles to get the match started. Jackson Trevor and Jun Mo were inserted into the lineup at No. 2 and came away with an 8-2 victory, while the pairing of Patrick Kley and Matthew Danielson recorded an 8-1 win in third doubles.

Kevin Yan returned to singles play against McDaniel and was a 6-0, 6-3 winner at the top of the lineup. Jun Mo picked up his second Centennial Conference singles victory of the year as he played No. 2 and was a 6-1, 6-1 winner. Three other Fords, Jackson Trevor (No. 3), Adam Branovan (No. 5), and Andrew Linden (No. 6) each recorded the first singles victories of their respective careers. Scott Kozarsky played No. 4 singles and notched the second win of his career.

Kozarsky did not allow a single game to his opponent, while Trevor and Linden conceded just one game during each in their matches. Branovan added to the team sweep with a 6-0, 6-2 win in his match.

Men's tennis will be back at home this coming Tuesday for a 4 p.m. match against Ursinus. Haverford and Johns Hopkins are the only remaining undefeated teams in Centennial Conference action after Saturday's results. The Fords are scheduled to travel to Baltimore to take on Johns Hopkins next Saturday.
