In preparation for the biennial induction ceremony, the athletic department is seeking nominations of former Haverford student-athletes and coaches for induction.
To be nominated for the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing and attain a cumulative grade point average of 3.40 or higher.
Adam Chow, Justin Minerva, and Andreas Wingert all earned the honor following the 2022-23 season, the first season that College Sports Communicators has assembled a full tennis-specific All-Academic team.
Haverford was well represented on the All-Centennial Conference teams with five honorees on the All-CC teams, the second most behind conference champion Swarthmore.
The Fords fell behind 2-1 after doubles, but rallied to win the first four singles matches to reach conclusion in singles play to punch a ticket to Swarthmore for the CC semis.
The team put up a tough fight against a nationally ranked opponent, and their three wins in singles play showed their resilience and determination as the jam-packed April slate continues.
Haverford will now return to the Philadelphia area with a 3-3 overall record. The Fords are next in action on Saturday, March 25 at home against Muhlenberg.
Haverford dropped a hard-fought, 5-4 decision to Rochester before turning around with little rest between matches, taking down Wheaton in a convincing 8-1 performance.
The ITA Southeast Regional marked the end of the Haverford Men’s Tennis fall season, but the squad will now turn its attention to the spring dual match season with action beginning in late February.
Haverford won each of its first-round singles matches, with Andreas Wingert advancing to the Round of 16 in championship singles play while Justin Minerva and Stefan Johnson will advance to the round of 16 in championship doubles.
