NEW YORK CITY – Haverford College's men's indoor track & field team kicked off the second half of its winter schedule over the weekend at the New York University Saturday Night Shootout, earning a first-place finish in the mile from Christopher Stadler and second-place finishes from Charlie Marquardt (mile) and the 4x400- and 4x800-meter relays.
Stadler posted the Centennial Conference's top mile time this winter with his winning time of 4 minutes, 15.04 seconds. Marquardt's second-place posting of 4:16.80 ranks as the conference's second-fastest mile this indoor season. Both fifth-place finisher Avi Bregman (4:20.71) and sixth-place David Roza (4:20.90) posted indoor career bests for the Fords in the race.
That foursome of Fords teamed together in the 4x800 to register a second-place finish at the Shootout, combining for a time of 8:06.20.
The 4x400 quartet of Gebby Keny, Jonathan Yellets, Dorvil Gabriel and Christopher Gardner raced to a runner-up finish with a clocking of 3:28.89, a season best for the Fords this winter.
Yellets also finished 10th in the 200 and Gardner added an 11th-place finish in the 800.
Also on the track, Daniel Stackman posted his career indoor best, 9:01.99, in the 3,000 for the eighth-fastest time of the night.
Off the oval, long jumper Andrew Bennett registered a season best with a sixth-place leap of 6.11 meters.
The Fords continue their season Saturday in Alumni Field House by hosting the Haverford Invitational at The Gary Lutnick Tennis & Track Center.
