DMR quartet races to win at Tufts

MEDFORD, Mass. – Haverford College's quartet of Charlie Marquardt, Jonathan Yellets, Gebby Keny and Christopher Stadler teamed up to produce the winning time in the distance medley relay Saturday morning at the Tufts Cupid Challenge with Stadler anchoring the quartet to a time of 9 minutes, 58.01 seconds.

The NCAA utilizes a track indexing system, for national meet qualifying, meaning the Fords' time will be converted from the flat track of the Gantcher Center to a banked track equivalent. The flat to banked conversion will result in an even faster time that will be listed within the national performance list for the DMR. Saturday's flat-track time posted by Haverford is already the fourth-fastest in the nation among Division III competitors.

The foursome's time, un-indexed, also rates as the Centennial Conference's fastest outing this winter.

Haverford hosts the Keogh Invitational on Feb. 22 for a final tune-up before welcoming the conference to The Gary Lutnick Tennis & Track Center in Alumni Field House for the league's men's and women's indoor track & field championship meet on Saturday and Sunday, March 1-2.
