Performance at Keogh Invite merits athlete of week honor for Marquardt

LANCASTER, Pa. – Charlie Marquardt of the Haverford College men's indoor track & field team posted the Centennial Conference's second-fastest 800-meter time at Saturday's Keogh Invitational in The Gary Lutnick Tennis & Track Center, earning the sophomore the league's track athlete of the week award as announced Monday afternoon by the Centennial office.

Marquardt posted a winning time of 1 minute, 54.64 seconds in the Eddie Papalia Memorial 800 at the Keogh. His time, converted to the NCAA banked track index, equates to a 1:53.03 which is the 20th-fastest performance in the 800 among Division III runners during this winter's indoor season.

Andrew Bartnett of Johns Hopkins University was named the league's field athlete of the week after winning the pole vault at the Keogh, clearing a career-best height of 4.70 meters (15 feet, 5 inches).

Haverford hosts the Centennial's indoor men's and women's track & field championship Saturday and Sunday, March 1-2 at the Tennis & Track Center.
