Five from track to run at indoor men's nationals

LINCOLN, Neb. – The NCAA 2014 Division III indoor track & field championship meet gets underway Friday, March 14 and five runners from Haverford College's men's team will circle the oval in the Bob Devaney Sports Center at the University of Nebraska during the two-day event.

Senior Avi Bregman takes to the track first for the Fords, competing in the 5,000-meter run Friday at approximately 5:25 p.m. (CST).

The next event to follow is the distance medley relay (DMR) with Haverford's quartet of Charlie Marquardt, Jonathan Yellets, Gebby Keny and Christopher Stadler entering the event with the third-fastest time in the nation (9 minutes, 50.0 seconds). Last winter the DMR entry from Haverford earned All-America recognition with a fourth-place finish.

Saturday's individual event schedule finishes off at 4:25 p.m. with the 3,000-meter run. Stadler and Marquardt are seeded in the event with the fifth and sixth, respectively, fastest times. Stadler raced to the event title in the 5,000 last winter at the the 2013 indoor championship meet.

Last winter the Fords finished in a tie for ninth at the national meet.
