HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford College Men's Track & Field junior Dylan Gearinger was named the Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week for the second straight week after a standout performance during the Cupid Challenge at Tufts on Saturday.

Gearinger followed his dominating 3,000 meter mark at last week's Seamus McElligott Invitational by winning the 5,000 meter race at Tufts with a time of 14:29.56. The mark is the fifth-fastest individual mark in Haverford indoor history. After a conversion for track size, Gearinger recorded the second fastest 5,000 meter time in Division III this season.

Gearinger has proved to be one of the elite distance runners in the nation this season and is the defending Centennial Conference champion in the indoor 3,000 meter and is the reigning champion in the outdoor 10,000 meter. In addition, he finished second in the outdoor 5,000 meter at the Centennial Conference championships last May.

Men's indoor track & field returns to action on Friday, February 9 at the NYU Invitational in New York City. The action is slated to get underway at 2 p.m.
