HAVERFORD, Pa. – In the final tuneup for the Centennial Conference Championships, the Haverford Men's Indoor Track & Field team contested the Keogh Inivitational inside the Alumni Field House, placing second out of 10 teams while compiling a total of 73 points. Liam Lynch won the 800 meter title for the Fords while the 4x400 meter relay squad of Gene Perry, Chris Goings, Scott Pollara and Lynch also took home an event title on the afternoon.

Lynch paced the 800 meter field with a time of 1:57.26. Goings was right behind him in a time of 1:57.64 while Matt Katz also scored for the Fords, crossing in eighth with a time of 2:01.30.

The relay squad finished in 3:30.67, besting Eastern who crossed in second with a time of 3:32.05. Franklin & Marshall finished third in 3:36.43. The 4x200 meter relay squad of Perry, Greg Van Aken, Zach Oji and Pollara crossed in fourth, picking up five points for Haverford in 1:39.39.

Haverford also excelled in the mile run with Marcelo Jauregui-Volpe finishing in second with a career-best time of 4:25.79 while Lincoln Satterthwaite was third in a career-best 4:25.88. James Barker finished fourth in 4:26.43. James Stadler was sixth in a career-best 4:28.72 and Conor Madden was ninth in a career best time of 4:31.18.

Henry Woods finished second overall in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:33.23. Steve Gan (10:01.30) and Liam Bassett (10:22.66) also competed in the event, finishing in 17th and 19th, respectively.

In the 60 meter hurdles, Oji finished in 10 seconds flat for an eighth place finish, scoring a point for Haverford. Oscar Huang narrowly missed scoring in the 200 meter final, crossing in a career best time of 24.65 for a ninth place finish.

Oji also scored in the triple jump, finishing in fourth with a distance of 11.90 meters. Rohan Shukla was a scorer in the event for Haverford, finishing seventh with a mark of 11.70 meters.

Keiran Marrett-Hitch excelled in the high jump with a mark of 1.80 meters for a fourth place finish while Greg Van Aken tied for eighth in the pole vault with a height of 3.80 meters.  Silvan Sooksatan finished 10th in the long jump (5.84m) to lead the Fords contingent in the event.  Josiah Legaspi was ninth in the shot put with a throw of 11.82 meters.

Haverford will now shift its focus on the Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships, which will be held on Saturday, February 24 and Sunday, February 25 at Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pa.
