Lynch Picks Up CC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford junior Liam Lynch has been named the Centennial Conference Co-Track Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced in a release on Monday morning. Lynch won the 800 meter race the Keogh Invitational, pacing the field with a time of 1:57.26. In addition, Lynch anchored the men's 4x400 meter relay squad that finished in first place with a time of 3:30.67. Lynch shares the award with Andre Kelly of Ursinus.

Lynch takes home the award for the for the second time this season after also being honored on December 11 after winning the 800 meter title at the Haverford Holiday Invitational with a time of 1:57.27.

The Albany, N.Y. product is the reigning Centennial Conference champion in the 400 meter race and has now won three 800 meter event titles in 2017-18 and has nine individual  indoor event titles overall. Those titles include back-to-back 400 meter conference championships to begin his career in 2016 and 2017. 

Haverford has now won six Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week honors in seven weeks of competition.

Lynch will look to capture a third-straight conference title at the Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships, which will be held on Saturday, February 24 and Sunday, February 25 inside the Floy Lewis Bakes Center at Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pa.
