Greg Morgan Earns Third Consecutive CC Track Athlete of the Week Honor

Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford senior Greg Morgan has been named the Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week for the third consecutive week, and the fourth time in five weeks, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.

Morgan has now taken home the conference's weekly honors for the sixth time in his career, with five of those plaudits coming during the indoor campaign.

Morgan again had a Saturday to remember on the track, posting the top Division III finish in the mile at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston. Morgan crossed in a career-best 4:05.01, furthering his cushion at the top of the Division III qualifying list in the event.

The Hollidaysburg, Pa. product finished second in a fast heat in which he was the only Division III entrant. The high-profile nature of the meet was hard to ignore, as the event featured seven runners breaking the four-minute barrier as well as the top collegiate time in the nation this year from event champion Waleed Suliman of Ole Miss.

Morgan topped his previous career best mark by more than five seconds and recorded the fourth-fastest indoor mile in program history. The senior Computer Science major continues to hold Division III's top mark in both the mile and 3,000 meters this season.

The Fords will return to action at home, with the final regular season meet of the season on tap on Saturday inside the Alumni Field House. The Keogh Invitational will begin at 10:30 a.m.
