HAVERFORD, Pa. – After a regular season in which he was named Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week on four occasions in the span of five weeks, Haverford senior Greg Morgan was named the Centennial Conference's Outstanding Track Performer, the conference office announced in a release on Tuesday afternoon.

Morgan, a defending All-America finisher in the indoor mile, captured the Centennial mile event title for the second straight campaign and was part of Haverford's gold medal-winning distance medley relay team. Morgan also picked up a silver medal as part of Haverford's 4x800 meter relay squad at last month's Centennial Championships at Franklin & Marshall. The Hollidaysburg, Pa. product has been a standout on the national stage for Haverford all season, as he currently holds the top time in Division III in both the mile and 3,000 meters.

Morgan stormed to the the top spot in Division III in both distances, recording a 4:05.01 mile at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston, en route to a third consecutive Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week award. Morgan's 3,000-meter time from the NYU Armory Invitational in January also still stands as the best time in Division III so far this season (8:14.56). The senior's mile and 3,000-meter marks are both the fourth-fastest individual times program history.

The Computer Science major is Haverford's second straight indoor Outstanding Track Performer of the Year, as Dylan Gearinger was named Performer of the Year a season ago after capturing both the 3,000 meters and 5,000 meters at the 2018 Centennial Indoor Championships. Haverford previously captured the award in four straight seasons from 2013-16 as Chris Stadler '14 and Charlie Marquardt '16 each held a two-year stint as recipients of the conference's top indoor honor.

Morgan headlines the field as the top overall seed in the 3,000 meters at the 2019 NCAA Division III Championships, which will be held on March 8-9 at the Reggie Lewis Center in the Roxbury section of Boston. Morgan becomes Haverford's 63rd individual qualifier to the NCAA indoor meet. Action in the 3,000 meter prelims begins at 1 p.m. ET on Friday.
