HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's cross country and track & field program currently sits in seventh place in the USTFCCCA NCAA Division III Program of the Year Standings at the end of the indoor track & field season.

The USTFCCCA started the Program of the Year Award in the 2008-09 seasons to recognize the institutions that have achieved the most overall success across the three competitive seasons, based on the team's finish at the NCAA Championships.

In order to be eligible for the award, teams must qualify for each of the NCAA Championships. Scoring is based on the team's finish at each NCAA Championship in cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field (i.e. 1st = 1 point, 2nd = 2 points) with the lowest total score for all three championships combined determining the award winner. Ties among schools split points for positions taken.

Men's cross country was the low scorer for the Fords. Haverford made its seventh trip to the podium as a cross country team this fall behind All-American performances from Graham Peet, Ryan Herlihy, and Greg Morgan. With a nice team trophy to show for its efforts, the Fords' fourth-place finish was the programs highest since a runner-up showing in 2012 that capped a span of three straight trips to the podium. The men's cross country team has now made 26 straight appearances at the NCAA Championships.

The Fords finished 19th in the indoor meet last weekend in Boston, as Morgan captured Haverford's 11th individual indoor championship and became Haverford's second straight champion in the 3,000 meters. Haverford is the first program to ever achieve that feat during the indoor campaign.

The Outdoor Track & Field season will begin on the final weekend of the month at the Danny Curran Invitational in Chester, Pa. The Widener-hosted meet will span March 29 and 30.
