LANCASTER, Pa. – The league office, on Friday, released its 2012 All-Centennial Men's Outdoor Track & Field team and eight Haverford College athletes earned all-league honors.
Athletes earn first-team selection by winning an event at the league's championship meet which was contested May 4-6 at Ursinus College. Individual event runner-ups at the meet earn honorable mention all-Centennial honors.
Jordan Schilit captured event titles in the 1,500, 5,000, and 10,000 meter runs to earn his spot on the all-conference first team. Schilit's three victories also earned the junior the championship's track performer of the meet award.
Senior Tim Schoch earned first-team honors with an individual victory in the 800 and garnered another first-team honor as part of the Fords' winning 4x800 relay quartet. Senior Andrew Golato, junior Ivo Milic-Strkalj and sophomore Soren Rasmussen completed the relay foursome also picking up first-team all-league honors.
Sophomore Avi Bregman was named to the first-team with his win in the 3,000 meter steeplechase and freshman Gibby Graves won first-team accolades with a victory in the high jump.
Schoch and Faraz Sohail were tabbed honorable mention all-conference in the 1,500 and 5,000, respectively.
The Centennial release also notes that Haverford leads the gold medal count over the 19-year history of the meet with 94. Dickinson College is next with 49.
