Stadler posts NCAA top time as Fords wrap up weekend of competition

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Haverford College men's track and field team continued its strong start to the outdoor season by posting top times at both the Larry Ellis and Widener Invitational on Saturday.

Senior Christopher Stadler ran at the Larry Ellis Invitational hosted by Princeton University and placed fifth overall while competing against Division-I competition in the 5,000-meter race. Stadler finished the race in a time of 14 minutes, 1.62 seconds, which is the fastest time in Division-III this year and is the seventh fastest ever in NCAA Division-III history.

Several athletes also competed for Haverford at the Widener (University) Invitational and the team was led by Gebby Keny's season-best time of 1:55.18 in the 800-meter run. Keny crossed the finish line in third place and owns the fourth fastest time in the event in the conference this year.

Teammate Jeffrey Ainsley finished third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.78. Ainsley's result was the second fastest time in the Centennial this year and is just .08 seconds away from the top time in the league.

Ainsley teamed up with Sam Callon, Jonathan Yellets, and Alex Frost to run the 4x100-relay at Widener. The quartet finished the event in a time of 42.98, a season-best for Haverford, which is also the second fastest result in the relay race this year in the conference.

The Fords host their only meet of the outdoor season this Tuesday, April 22. Haverford welcomes Widener University to compete in the Haverford/Widener Dual Meet which is set to begin at 4 p.m.
