HAVERFORD, Pa. - Charlie Marquardt has been named the Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week. Marquardt just missed becoming the second runner in NCAA Division III history to run a four minute mile as he placed third in the Olympic Development Men's Mile at the Penn Relays with a time of 4:02.70. His time ranks third in Haverford's all time record book behind national champions Karl Paranya '97 and Kevin Foley '83.

Marquardt has now received a weekly honor 16 times in his career with this being his fifth time earning the accolade during the outdoor track & field season. He has been named the conference's indoor track athlete of the week on six occasions and earned this award five times in cross country.

The Haverford senior will return to the track this weekend when he competes in the Centennial Conference Championship, hosted by Dickinson College. The weekend's first events begin on Friday, May 6.
