Men's Track and Field in Second After Day Two of Centennial Championships

BALTIMORE – The Haverford Men's Outdoor Track and Field team registered four scorers in the 3000m steeplechase and had three top qualifiers in preliminary action on Saturday afternoon at the Centennial Conference Championships. Haverford is in second place after two days of action with 63.50 points after nine events that have registered scores thus far. 

In the 3000m steeplechase, the Fords were paced by Graham Peet. Peet placed second with a time of 9:21.65. The mark was a personal best for Peet, who will take home All-Centennial second team honors in the distance. 

The sophomore was followed by James Stadler, who was third in 9:33.55 to pick up Centennial Conference honorable mention honors. Chris Gandolfo-Lucia was fifth in a personal-best 9:48.67. Lincoln Satterthwaite also scored for the Fords with a time of 9:49.55, good for sixth place.

In the 4x800 meter relay, the squad of Tyler Fong, Julian Schneider, Peter Kurtz and Greg Morgan finished in 7:53.89, good for a fourth place finish, picking up five points in the process.

In other finals action, Jack Brower finished with a mark of 1.80m to score 4.50 points for the Fords while matching a personal best.

In preliminary action, Haverford's Liam Lynch was the top qualifier in the 400m dash, crossing in 49.99 to lead all comers, easily winning his heat.  Lynch also qualified in the 200m, crossing in 23.33 to finish as the seventh best preliminary time.

In the 800m run, Chris Goings crossed in fourth with a time of 1:56.73 to qualify for tomorrow's finals action. Zach Oji qualified in the 400m hurdles with a fourth-place preliminary finish. Oji crossed in 58.39.

Men's track & field will wrap up the outdoor conference championships on Sunday. The final day of competition gets underway at 11:00 a.m. with the 4x100 relays.
