SWARTHMORE, Pa. - In the first last chance meet opportunity, Haverford junior Henry Woods and sophomore Greg Morgan improved their standing for NCAA Championship qualification with standout performances at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier on Monday evening.

Woods finished fourth in the 5000m to pace the Haverford contingent. Woods was the second finisher amongst Division III runners with a time of 14:26.36, a new personal best and the 10th best mark in program history.

The time is currently the 20th best mark in Division III with last chance meets taking place across the national landscape this week. The top 20 declared student-athletes in each event will be accepted into the competition.

Greg Morgan put himself into good position with a personal-best mark of 3:51 flat in the 1500m. The time is currently the 21st best time in Division III this season. Julian Schneider crossed in 70th with a time of 4:03.81 and Chris Goings was 82nd with a mark of 4:10.

Dylan Gearinger finished in 12th place in the 5000m with a time of 14:42.82 while Jimmy Gorman crossed in 19th with a time of 14:51.53, a new personal best. Charlie Hale was 25th with a personal-best time of 14:56.73 while Ryan Herlihy finished in 26th with a personal-best time of 14:57.18. Evan Hamilton crossed in 54th with a time of 15:23.38.

In the 3000m, Graham Peet finished in 13th place with a time of 9:19.59, a new personal best mark. Liam Lynch finished in 18th place with a time of 1:53.81 in the 800m.

Last chance meets continue with the Mideast Invitational at Widener on Thursday afternoon in advance of the NCAA Championships, which will be hosted by Mount Union (Ohio) next weekend (May 25-27). Declared entries will be announced this weekend.
