Four Named All-Region for Men's Track & Field

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's outdoor track and field team placed four on the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Mideast Region list, the organization announced in a release on Monday morning.

Earning All-Mideast region designation for Haverford were Dylan Gearinger, Greg Morgan, Graham Peet and Henry Woods.

All-Region designation is reserved for student-athletes who are ranked within the top five of an individual event in the region according to the final TFRRS results or are part of a relay team that finished in the top three in the region. The regions used for this award – Atlantic, Central, Great Lakes, Mideast, Midwest, New England, South/Southeast and West – match those used during cross country and the indoor track & field season.

Gearinger and Woods picked up the honor for their 5,000 meter performances while Morgan was named to the honor in the 1,500 meter. Peet took home the award in the 3,000 meter steeplechase event. 

Woods finished in a personal-best 14:26.36 at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier earlier this month, notching the 10th-best performance in program history in the distance to secure a trip to the NCAA Championships. Gearinger posted a personal-best 14:33.66 time at the Larry Ellis Invitational in April.

Morgan crossed in 3:51 flat at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier to earn a trip to nationals while Peet picked up the honor in the steeplechase for the second straight season after a 9:19.59 time at the Swarthmore meet.

Woods, Peet and Morgan now have the distinction of being named to All-Region honors in all three running seasons after picking up the plaudit in the Cross Country and Indoor Track & Field seasons earlier this academic year.

Woods and Morgan will head to the NCAA Division III Championship with Morgan slated to compete in the 1,500 meter prelims at 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, May 25. The finals for the event are slated for 12:35 p.m. on Saturday, May 27 while Woods will run in the 5,000 meter final at 3:25 p.m. on Saturday.
