Morgan Advances to 1,500 Meter Final at NCAA Championships

GENEVA, Ohio  - Haverford sophomore Greg Morgan qualified for the final of the men's 1,500 meter championship at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday at the SPIRE Institute, crossing the finish line in 3:52.90.

Morgan finished seventh in the first of two heats, necessitating the results of the second heat to become official before a determination could be made regarding his advancement to the final. The top eight finishers in Saturday's event finals will garner All-America status.

Morgan finished just three-hundredths shy of Donson Cook-Gallardo of Carleton, the winner of the second heat, and well ahead of Sean Bjork of St. Olaf, the fifth fastest time in the second heat. The results of the second heat ensured Morgan's qualification to Saturday's action.

The 1,500 meter race will begin at 12:35 p.m. on Saturday afternoon (May 27). Junior Henry Woods will also compete in the finals-only 5,000 meter at 3:25 p.m. Live results and live video coverage from the NCAA will be available via links on the Haverford Men's Outdoor Track and Field schedule page.
