GENEVA, Ohio – The Haverford College men's outdoor track and field team was well represented at the Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships finals on Saturday afternoon at the SPIRE Institute as Henry Woods finished in 11th in the 5,000 meter while Greg Morgan crossed in 12th in the 1,500 meter earlier in the afternoon.

Both runners outperformed their seeds at the national championship, which wrapped up on Saturday after three days of action in Northeast Ohio.

Woods outpaced his 17th seed with an 11th place finish in a time of 14:52.33. Woods competed valiantly in a crowded field that acted as a defacto who's-who of Division III distance runners.

Woods, a USTFCCCA cross country All-American in the fall of 2016, made his outdoor track national championship debut after previously competing as a member of Haverford's distance medley relay team at the 2016 indoor championships.

A First-team All-Centennial and All-Region honoree in the 5,000 meter this season, Woods was named CoSIDA Academic All-District earlier this week and will await word of Academic All-America honors early next month.  The junior will look to cap an already illustrious career with a full senior season ahead of him in 2017-18.

Morgan finished the 1,500 meter race in 12th place overall with a time of 3:58.47. Morgan's 12th place finish well outpaces his 17th seed.

In just his sophomore season, Morgan has raced in the national championships in both cross country and outdoor track and has been named USTFCCCA All-Mideast Region and All-Centennial Conference in each running season during the 2016-17 academic year. Morgan, an integral part of Haverford's distance core, will next look to help guide the Fords to a cross country title in the upcoming fall campaign.

The outdoor season concludes with Haverford bringing runners to the Division III Championships for the 32nd straight season.
