Season Notes: The Haverford College Men's Outdoor Track and Field team finished in second place at the 2017 Centennial Conference Championships in Baltimore. Haverford has yet to finish below second in a conference meet ... The 5,000m event was dotted by Fords scorers, as Henry Woods picked up another event title in the 5,000m, taking home All-Centennial first team honors with a time of 5:22.53 ... Dylan Gearinger took home the even title in the 10,000 meter on the first day of competition … Haverford junior thrower Josiah Legaspi set a new school record in the hammer throw, with a mark of 39.30m at the Chester Quarry Classic. The mark, which translates to an English mark of 128 feet and 11 and half inches, eclipses the previous school record of 123 feet and six inches set in 1905 by Harold Jones '05 … Woods, Graham Peet and Morgan now have the distinction of being named to All-Region honors in all three running seasons after picking up the plaudit in the Cross Country and Indoor Track & Field seasons earlier this academic year.

Looking Ahead: The Fords will be a strong contender for a Centennial title in 2018, with Henry Woods back for his senior season to help guide a formidable contingent of returning juniors that includes Gearinger, Morgan, Peter Kurtz, Liam Lynch and Graham Peet. Jimmy Gorman, Charlie Hale and Alex Frost graduate from leadership roles but the future looks bright for Haverford with a talented freshman class emerging as the rising upperclassmen settle into veteran roles.
