HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford junior Greg Morgan has been named the Centennial Conference Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon. Morgan was named to the award after finishing as the top attached runner in the 1,500 meters at the Chester Quarry Classic on the campus of Widener Saturday afternoon.

Morgan completed the 1,500 meters in a time of 3:53.80. The time is the fifth-best in all of NCAA Division III thus far in 2018. Morgan was second only to Charlie Marquardt '16, who was competing for Bryn Mawr Running Club. Last outdoor season, Morgan qualified for the NCAA Outdoor National Championships in the 1,500-meter and will hope to qualify for this season's event in La Crosse, Wis.

Morgan was an All-American in the mile during the indoor season. Morgan received the All-America designation after a fifth-place finish in a time of 4:12.32 in the mile run on the indoor track in Birmingham, Ala.

This is the second Track Athlete of the Week award for Morgan this season as the Hollidaysburg, Pa. product also picked up the honor during the indoor season after completing the mile in a time of 4:18.91, winning the title at the Coach I Invitational at Franklin & Marshall. The Fords will next return to action Friday as the team splits athletes between two meets, the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton and the Widener Invitational. The Widener meet will span two days, with action concluding Saturday, April 21.
