Three Scoring Finishes for Men's Track & Field On Day Two of Widener Invitational

CHESTER, Pa. – On the second day at the Widener Invitational, the Haverford College men's outdoor track & field team completed action, finishing ninth at the two-day event. Haverford received scoring finishes in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, the 1,500 meters and the 800 meters on the final day of competition in Chester. 

Lincoln Satterthwaite finished second overall in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, crossing the finish line in 9:42.53, scoring for the Fords with eight points. The time was a career-best mark in the event for the Kentucky product. Liam Bassett finished 22nd for the Fords, in a time of 10:51.60. James Barker led the way for the Fords in the 1,500 meters with a personal-best time of 3:59.42, good for a fifth place finish. Jacob Landsberg won his heat for the Fords, finishing in 4:20.48 while William Hillegas was eighth in the same heat with a time of 4:28.90.  

Chris Goings scored for the Fords in the 800m, completing the event in a time of 1:56.06, just shy of his personal best mark. Tyler Fong finished just outside of the scorers with a 12th place finish in 1:57.85. Gene Perry was 28th in 1:59.66 while Hiroshi Kawakatsu (42nd, 2:01.33), Sam Ditkovsky (51st, 2:02.23) and Ian Woodhouse (57th, 2:02.74) rounded out the entrants for Haverford in the event. Scott Pollara finished second in his heat in the 400 meters with a time of 53:01, matching a personal-best and good for 37th overall. Zach Oji finished 22nd in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 18.50. In the 400 meter hurdles, Oji finished 21st in 1:00.54.

Keiran Marrett-Hitch finished 62nd overall in his debut appearance in the 100-meter dash in a time of 12:23 while Oscar Huang was 64th in 12:30. Gabe Pascal (72nd, 12.45) and Justin Telleria (73rd, 12.46) rounded out the Haverford entrants. Huang was the lone Haverford runner in the 200-meter dash, finishing 61st in 24:54.

The Fords 4x100 meter relay team of Greg Van Aken, Cameron Albrecht, Huang and Marrett-Hitch finished 13th (46:75) while the squad of Pascal, Telleria, Silvan Sooksatan and Rohan Shukla finished 15th (47:07).

Andrew Lummus was Haverford's top finisher in the long jump, posting a distance of 5.65 meters for a 36th-place finish. Sooksatan was 39th, notching a mark of 5.57 meters while Rohan Shukla (40th, 5.56m) and Chris Glazer (49th, 5.10m) also competed in the event for the Fords.

Lummus also competed in the triple jump, registering a jump of 12.50 meters for a 10th place finish. Jack Brower recorded a height of 1.75 meters in the high jump, good for 20th place overall. Greg Van Aken cleared a height of 3.75 meters in the pole vault. In the lone men's throwing event of the day, Josiah Legaspi recorded a distance of 36.73m in the hammer.

The Fords will return to action on Monday as Haverford hosts its annual Invitational at Johnson Track. Events will begin at 3:30 p.m.
