LA CROSSE, Wis. – Five members of the Haverford College men's outdoor track & field team will take part in the 2018 NCAA Division III Championships at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse over Memorial Day weekend. Haverford has had at least one qualifier for the national championship meet in every outdoor season dating back to 1986. The Fords have notched an outdoor track & field All-American in 16 of the last 17 campaigns.

Action will begin on Thursday, May 24 and continue through Saturday, May 26 at Roger Harring Stadium at the Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.  The top 20 declared performers in each event qualified for the championships and the top-eight finishers in each event will earn NCAA Division III All-America honors.

The journey will begin for the Fords on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. CT with the 1,500 meter prelims. Greg Morgan will represent Haverford in the event for the second consecutive season. Morgan finished 12th last year and enters this year's event as the fourth-seeded runner with a seed time of 3:47.72 from the Swarthmore Final Qualifier last week. If Morgan should advance to the final, that race will be held at 12:25 pm CT on Saturday afternoon.

Later in the day, Graham Peet will take to the track for the 3,000-meter steeplechase with heats expected to begin at approximately 4:30 p.m CT. Peet is the 18th seed with a seed time of 9:11.31 in the event and will compete at outdoor nationals for the first time in his career. The steeplechase final is slated for 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Haverford's lone entrant on Saturday will be Liam Lynch, as the 800 meter prelims are scheduled for 5 p.m. CT on the track. Lynch is the 17th seed with a time of 1:51.50 in the event. The finals for the 800-meters are on Saturday at approximately 1:50 p.m.

On Saturday, Dylan Gearinger and Henry Woods will each compete in the 5,000 meter run at 3 p.m CT. The race has a finals-only format and will see Gearinger enter as the fourth overall seed with a time of 14:14.68 following an impressive display at the Penn Relays last month. Despite having three runners with faster times this season, the 3,000-meter indoor champion is the top-seeded runner who will be competing in solely one event.

Woods is the 10th-seeded runner with a time of 14:26.94, also achieved at the Penn Relays. Woods will be competing for the second-straight season, joining Morgan as back-to-back qualifiers. Haverford's five national qualifiers in 2018 is the most since the 2014 season when Christopher Stadler (5,000m), Avi Bregman (steeplechase), Charlie Marquardt (1,500m) and Gibby Graves (long jump) all qualified. Stadler won the national championship in the 5,000 meters that season.

Live timing and a video stream of all three days of action will be available via the NCAA Championships Central and links on HaverfordAthletics.com.
