HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford senior Greg Morgan has been named the Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. The weekly honor is the sixth track honor of 2018-19 for the Hollidaysburg, Pa. product, and the second of the outdoor season so far for the indoor 3,000-meter national champion.

Morgan picked up the latest weekly award after he was the top Division III finisher in a 53-entrant Mike Brady 1,500-meter elite race at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton Saturday night, finishing second in his heat and 13th overall, with a time of 3:48.10. Morgan's time just narrowly missed his personal best, and is currently the fastest time in Division III so far this season as the campaign reaches the home stretch, with just five weeks until the NCAA National Championships over Memorial Day weekend.

In addition to the top 1,500-meter time in the nation so far this season, Morgan also holds the 11th-fastest 5,000-meter time as he raced to a 14:30.12 finish in the Danny Curran Invitational on the first day of the outdoor season at Widener back on March 29.

Morgan will contest the 5,000 meters at the prestigious Penn Relays on Thursday, April 22. His race is slated to begin at 9:20 p.m. Morgan will be one of three Fords to compete on the men's side, as senior Graham Peet contests the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 7:30 p.m. while senior Ryan Herlihy runs the 10,000 meters at approximately 11 p.m. to wrap up action on distance night at the oldest and largest track & field competition in the nation.
