This is the second consecutive honor for Eshghi and LaRochelle's first spot on the Academic All-Area team for track & field. LaRochelle has twice been named to the cross country Academic All-area team, and was the PhillySIDA Academic Performer of the Year for cross country in 2023.
Eshghi capped a decorated collegiate career in 2025 with an NCAA Division III national runner-up finish and first-team All-America honors in the indoor 3,000 meters. A three-time All-American, he also earned second-team honors in the mile and 1,500 meters in 2024 and in the 5,000 meters in 2025. Eshghi was named the 2025 Centennial Conference Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year and received the Gregory Kannerstein '63 Award, Haverford's second-highest senior athletic honor.
A dominant presence across multiple events, the Lincoln, Mass., native earned First-Team All-Centennial Conference honors in the distance medley relay in 2023 and in the mile, 1,500, and 5,000 meters in 2024. He repeated as champion in the mile, 1,500, and 3,000 meters in 2025. Eshghi was a consistent USTFCCCA All-Metro Region honoree in the mile, 1,500, 3,000, and 5,000 meters from 2023 through 2025.
Also a standout in the classroom, the economics major earned College sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors in three consecutive years and received Haverford's Ambler Scholar-Athlete Award for maintaining one of the top 15 GPAs among senior student-athletes. He was a five-time Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week.
LaRochelle, a senior mathematics major, concluded an exceptional collegiate career with Second-Team All-America honors in the 10,000 meters in 2025. A consistent force in distance events, he earned First-Team All-Centennial Conference recognition in the 10,000 meters that same year, along with multiple Second-Team selections in the 3,000, 5,000, and 10,000 meters throughout his career.
The Great Barrington, Mass., native was named USTFCCCA All-Region from 2023 to 2025 in both the 5,000 and 10,000 meters. He also received All-Metro Region honors in the 3,000 and 5,000 meters indoors, as well as the 5,000 and 10,000 meters outdoors over that same span. Academically, LaRochelle was a CSC Academic All-American a season ago, adding that honor to Academic All-District recognition in 2024, and was named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team and Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll each year from 2022-23 to 2024-25. He was also a two-time Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week.
The Academic All-Area Team is nominated and voted on by the sports information offices of 30 colleges and universities in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. Both the men's and women's teams consist of at least 10 student-athletes each, with a Performer of the Year also selected. Nominees must be in at least their second year at their current institution and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.30.
