TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The 2012 men's cross country season came to its close Saturday morning for Haverford College on the LaVern Gibson eight-kilometer course where the Fords raced into a second-place tie at the NCAA 2012 Division III national championship meet. Haverford was buoyed by a pair of All-American finishers in junior Christopher Stadler and senior Peter Kissin.

North Central (Ill.) College captured its second straight team title with 167 points. The Fords and Calvin (Mich.) College finished in a tie for second, each totaling 188 points to edge out the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse which finished in fourth-place finish with 190 points.

Stadler (pictured, bib #1046) and Kissin (pictured, #1031) raced to all-American status by finishing within the top-35 at the meet. Stadler, in 12th, was the top finisher from the Centennial Conference, leading the Fords with a time of 24 minutes, 47.7 seconds. Kissin was 28th in a time of 25:02.0.

Tim Nelson from Wis.-Stout was the individual champion posting a winning time of 24:26.8.

Haverford's top five was rounded out by sophomore Joel Christian (pictured, #1020) in 49th, senior Jordan Schilit in 76th and junior Avi Bregman in a tie for 95th. In addition to the Fords' point scorers, junior Brian Sokas ran to a 117th-place finish and sophomore David Roza was 153rd of the 280 individuals in the championship race.

The gap between Haverford's scoring five was 52.5 seconds, only 10 seconds wider than the spread the conference-champion Fords raced to when capturing the Mideast Regional last weekend on Saturday, Nov. 10.

In addition to the Haverford's finish, the Centennial also saw Dickinson College place 18th and Johns Hopkins University finish 19th.
