Verner-Crist leads Fords at Haverford Invite

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Six Haverford College runners cracked the top 30 Friday evening at the Haverford Invitational with sophomore Dylan Verner-Crist leading the way for the home team with a 10th-place finish. Team scoring was not conducted at the event.

Verner-Crist posted a time of 20 minutes, 51.6 seconds over the four-mile course, trailing the first-place finisher by less than a minute.

Close behind Verner-Crist were teammates Daniel Stackman and Nicholas Gandolfo-Lucia in 11th and 12-place, respectively. Stackman was one second behind Verner-Crist while Gandolfo-Lucia was one second behind Stackman.

Freshman Michael Brier registered a time of 21:09.9 to finish 20th for Haverford while fellow newcomer Charlie Hale was 30th. In between the pair was junior teammate David Marsico in 24th.

Next up for the Fords is the postseason beginning with the Centennial Conference championship race on Saturday, Nov. 2 in Westminster, Md., hosted by McDaniel College at the Carroll County Farm Complex.
