Cross Country Hosting 2014 Centennial Conference Championships

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford College men's and women's cross country have announced their 2014 schedules. Highlighting the schedule for both squads will be the return of the Centennial Conference Championships to Haverford. In addition to hosting the conference meet, the Fords will also host the Main Line and Haverford Invitational, in addition to alumni and open races.

The women's side will get its season started first with the Haverford Open on August 29. A week later, both squads will be at home to take part in their annual alumni/alumnae race on September 6. Both squads will also host the Main Line Invitational on September 25.

Each cross country team will be on the road for the next two weeks following its races on the home course to start the season. October opens up with a trip to the Paul Short Invitational (Oct. 4) in Lehigh, Pa., while the teams will travel to the Princeton Invitational (Oct. 18) two weeks later.

The Fords will have to race in three straight weekends beginning with the Princeton Invitational. That following week, they are back at home to host the Haverford Invitational on October 24. The Centennial Conference Championships will take place on November 1. The postseason continues for each team with the Mideast Regional on November 15. The season culminates with the NCAA Division III Championships on November 22.

Men's cross country placed third at the Centennial Conference Championship last season and matched that third-place mark at the Mideast Regional before a 10th-place finish at the NCAA Championship. The women were conference runner-up last fall and placed fourth at the Mideast Regional. The women's side went on to place 17th at the NCAA Championship.
