Men's Cross Country Hosts Haverford Alumni/Open Race

HAVERFORD, Pa. – After waiting a day because of the weather, the Haverford College men's cross-country team hosted the annual Haverford Open/Alumni race on Sunday morning.

Junior Charlie Marquardt won the race with a time of 14:39.8. Eric Arnold '12 and Andrew Sturner '12 finished just behind Marquardt with times of 14:40.9 and 14:59.2 respectfully.

Haverford had seven runners in the top ten. Sophomore Jimmy Gorman who ran in the NCAA national meet last year finished sixth (15:10.5). Junior Dylan Verner-Crist (8th) and senior Joel Christian (10th) scored top-ten finishes in the race after also running last year's national meet.
 
The Fords' season continues when they host the Main Line Invitational on Sept. 25 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Haverford will also host the Haverford Invitational (Oct. 24) and the Centennial Conference Championship (Nov. 1).
