USTFCCCA Poll

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford men's cross country team jumped to the No. 11 spot in the second weekly NCAA Division III National Coaches' Poll released by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) today. Last week, the Fords were ranked No. 12.

Head coach Tom Donnelly's squad has run in one event this year, the Haverford Alumni/Open on Sept. 7. Junior Charlie Marquardt won the race while Haverford had seven runners in the top ten including sixth place finisher sophomore Jimmy Gorman who ran in the NCAA national meet last year. Junior Dylan Verner-Crist (8th) and senior Joel Christian (10th) scored top-ten finishes in the race after also running last year's national meet.

Haverford is one of only three schools in the current poll to have finished in the top ten each of the last five years. The Centennial Conference has three teams ranked among the top 20 in the poll. Johns Hopkins, the defending conference champion, ranks ninth while Dickinson is 13th.

The Fords' season continues when they host the Main Line Invitational on Sept. 25 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Haverford will also host the Haverford Invitational (Oct. 24) and the Centennial Conference Championship (Nov. 1).
