Men's Cross Country Jumps to No. 14 in NCAA Poll

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's cross country team jumped to No. 14 in the NCAA Division III National Coaches' Poll released by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) on Wednesday. In last week's poll, the Fords were ranked No. 20.

Last week, the Fords ran in the Princeton Invitational and finished in 10th place among the 37 teams in the field. They were the highest non-Division I team, placing higher than Centennial Conference rivals Swarthmore (23rd) and Johns Hopkins (31st).

Junior Charlie Marquardt posted his career best time of 24:36 and finished in 18th place to pace the Fords. With that, Marquardt was named the Centennial Conference Runner of the Week for the second time this season.

Haverford had the highest jump in the poll this week, improving by six positions. It's the highest ranking team in the Centennial Conference with Dickinson at No. 18 and Johns Hopkins at No. 26.

Head coach Tom Donnelly's team will host the Haverford Invitational on Friday beginning at 5 p.m. and the Centennial Conference Championship on Nov. 1.
