Woods Named CC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week

Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford senior Henry Woods has been named the Centennial Conference men's cross country Athlete of the Week, the conference announced in a press release on Monday afternoon. Woods picked up the award after leading the way for the fourth-ranked Haverford harriers at the Inter-Regional Border Battle on the campus of Rowan University.

Woods crossed the finish line in a time of 24:52.8, placing second overall as the Fords put three runners in front of No. 16 Carnegie Mellon's first finisher to easily capture the team title by a 29-62 margin. The Fords have been the top Division III finisher at each race they have competed in this season.

Woods, a product of New York City, was an All-America selection a season ago by virtue of a 22nd place finish at the NCAA Championships in Louisville, Ky. Woods became the 34th cross country All-American in program history with the finish.

Woods and The Fords now turn their attention to the Centennial Conference Championship in Gettysburg, Pa. on Sunday, October 29. Haverford will look to capture its 22nd Centennial Conference crown in 25 seasons.
