LANCASTER, Pa. - The Centennial Conference recognized Emily Winesett of the Haverford College softball team for a standout week in the circle as the sophomore was named the conference pitcher of the week on Monday afternoon.
Winesett gave opposing batters nightmares last week as she struck out 21 and allowed no earned runs in 16 total innings of work. The right-hander went 2-0 in two starts including a 10-inning, 14-strikeout performance against host McDaniel College that helped the Fords continue their push for a spot in the Centennial playoffs.
A native of St. Petersburg, Fla., Winesett is currently tied for fifth in program history in career strikeouts with 144.
