Softball Releases 2015 Schedule

2015 Schedule

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College softball team, under the direction of first-year head coach Erin Brooks, has announced its schedule for the 2015 season. The 2014 Centennial Conference Champions are scheduled to play 38 games during the regular season. Included in that slate is a 10 game trip to Florida over Spring Break and 16 home games (eight doubleheaders) when the team returns from the Sunshine State.

The 2015 season officially gets underway with the Spring Break trip to Clermont, Florida from Sunday, March 8 through Friday, March 13. Over the course of those six days, the team will fill five of those dates with doubleheaders with one built in off day. A full listing of the Spring Break schedule will become available later in the spring.

When the Fords return from Florida, three more non-conference doubleheaders await before Centennial Conference play begins. The team will travel to both Immaculata (Mar. 17) and Penn State-Berks (Mar. 21) for its first two true road doubleheaders of the season.

Haverford's home opener will be Thursday, March 19 against Eastern University with the doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. Other non-conference teams that the Fords will play host to on the Class of '95 Field include Rowan (Mar. 26), Widener (Apr. 7), and Arcadia (Apr. 16).

Centennial Conference play begins for Haverford on March 24 when the Fords travel to Washington College. Haverford will also battle Franklin & Marshall (Apr. 11), Ursinus (Apr. 14), and Swarthmore (Apr. 18) on the road this season.

The Fords' four home Centennial Conference doubleheaders will be against Dickinson (Mar. 28), Muhlenberg (Mar. 31), McDaniel (Apr. 9), and Gettysburg (Apr. 25). Muhlenberg was the team Haverford defeated for the 2014 conference title. Including the Rowan and Widener non-conference doubleheaders, Haverford's schedule boasts a 10 game homestand from March 26 through April 9.

Softball went 29-11 last season, including a 12-4 record in the Centennial Conference. The Fords went on to win the Centennial Conference Tournament and won two games at the NCAA Regional. The regional victories were the first in program history. The 29 victories last season set a new program record. The 2015 Centennial Conference Tournament will be held on Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3.

Live stats and live video will be available for each of the Fords' 16 home games this upcoming season.
