Four Named All-CC for Softball

Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College softball team had four players recognized as All-Centennial Conference selections as announced by the conference office. Julia Blake earned first-team all-conference accolades, while Kendall Chambers, Jessica Koshinski, and Ashley Sisto were all honorable mention picks among the coaches.

Julia Blake finished her conference games with a Centennial-leading .805 slugging percentage while also ranking third in both batting average (.488), and on-base percentage (.543). Blake also hit both of her home runs in conference play and recorded five of her seven doubles during those matchups as her 33 total bases were also the third highest total despite missing two conference doubleheaders. Perhaps her most memorable game came when she went 4-for-5 against Ursinus during which she homered, drove in three runs, and broke the school record with five runs scored in a single game. Blake was an honorable mention All-Centennial Conference selection in her rookie season.

Jessica Koshinski earned All-Centennial Conference accolades for the third consecutive season with her honorable mention nod. A two-time first-team All-Centennial Conference pick and Rookie of the Year in her previous seasons, Koshinski batted .342 to finish just outside of the top 10 in batting average over the course of the year. Her three home runs and nine doubles were also among the top 10 players in the conference. She led Haverford with 18 runs batted in for the year and had a hit in 19 different games, including eight multi-hit contests.

Kendall Chambers earned her second straight honorable mention All-Centennial Conference selection at the utility spot, splitting her time between pitching and first base. Offensively, Chambers finished with a .356 batting average, .420 on-base percentage, and .467 slugging percentage in conference contests. In the circle, she appeared in a team-high 18 contests with 11 starts. She finished the year with six complete game efforts, including shutouts against Bates and Swarthmore. The lone senior on the Fords this season, she graduates with the school record of 11 career saves.

Ashley Sisto was named honorable mention All-Centennial Conference during her rookie campaign. The Fords' centerfield batted .325 during her first year with a .411 on-base percentage, and .422 slugging percentage. She also ranked second on the team with 19 runs scored and eight doubles. Sisto recorded a pair of outfield assists against SUNY Oneonta and Lebanon Valley. Her efforts during the regular season were also rewarded with her being named the Centennial Conference Player of the Year on March 13.

In addition to those selections, Emily Gorman was named to the Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team. Making the move to catcher in her junior season, Gorman's offensive numbers all increased during Centennial Conference play. She also threw out five attempted base stealers and finished with a .988 fielding percentage.

Softball has now had at least four players honored with all-conference recognition during each of the last four seasons. The Fords have won two Centennial Conference Championships, made two NCAA Regional Championship game appearances, and advanced to the NCAA Super Regional for the first time in program history during this run of success.
